Our Youth Have Become Rebels Without a Cause

What in the world is going on in our Country?  We have a culture of youth whose lives are so empty and so void of meaning that they are acting out like insane people.  For a lack of any better description, I will borrow the name of a James Dean movie from 1955 to describe them, and call them rebels without a cause.  Sadly many of these young people have been raised by tablets, iPhones, computer games and indoctrination centers we call schools.  To see many of our youth with their cell phones you would think they worshiped those little extensions of their lives as deities.  They spend a great deal of money on them, and most of their lives are lived on them.

Deuteronomy 11:16 (NKJV)

16 “Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside and serve other gods and worship them,

Many of these young people have no sense of real self-worth, but at the same time believe the world owes them something.  They have been raised up rarely experiencing defeat because they always received at least a participation award, which leaves them with the inability to deal with being told no or they can’t have their own way which causes them to melt down.  Most were never required to work hard for anything, or learn the meaning of making their own way. Their parents provided them with everything their hearts desired to their detriment.  Instead of teaching them about God, and helping them to learn to become productive members of society; their parents were more like their friends neglecting many of their parental responsibilities, while working long hours keeping up with the Jones. They have not obeyed God and raised their children in the way they should go so they have not peace in their lives.

Deuteronomy 6:6-8 (NKJV)

6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.

Then many young people head off to university and end up taking really important classes like Women and Gender studies, Elvish, the language of “Lord of the Rings”, Feminist Perspectives: Politicizing Beyoncé, Whiteness: The Other Side of Racism, What if Harry Potter Is Real?, How to Stage a Revolution,  Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) Studies.  Those are just a few of the many strange classes being studied by our youth at universities around the country.  I’ve just got to ask, what kind of jobs do those classes prepare you for?

When you see any of them interviewed at these supposed peaceful protests, you can hardly find one that even knows why they’re there; or has the ability to form a clear and logical reason for protesting.  The only thing they can say or talk about is their talking points: I’m here because of racism, homophobia, xenophobia, this phobia, and that phobia.  Donald Trump is a racist hater of everyone and everything.  The sad part is most of them have done no research on, or know anything about President Trump other than what their handlers pump into their indoctrinated minds.

What a lot of this boils down to is many of these young people come to these protests looking for meaning in their lives and wanting to be part of something, but what they really end up achieving is becoming rebels without a cause.  They are rebelling against things they really know very little or nothing about which in my mind means they really have no real cause.

They are looking for something to give them a sense of purpose, a reason for their existence.  Sadly, not knowing God, many of them are looking to fill a void that only God can fill.  So, to find some sense of purpose, they become what they consider social justice warriors (SJW’s).  Their lives become all about righting perceived wrongs, stopping the fascists which they are really behaving like, trigger warnings, safe spaces, and Marxist leanings toward government.  They scream about tolerance, but they are the most intolerant people walking the face of the earth.

There is a big movement by the left now wanting to shut down all free speech in our country, well that is the free speech that doesn’t agree with their narrative.  That’s why when you try to talk to many of the protesters, you can’t have a reasonable debate with them, they just want to scream you down as a racist, homophobe, etc. etc. etc.

All alternative media, which is all I can stand to watch or listen to anymore, is being called fake news, which is really what CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC and most of FOX is anymore.  They no longer report the news, they blatantly make up stories that are complete fabrications or they twist and edit out parts of stories that to promote their leftist agenda.  And the indoctrination continues with our youth, as well as, many of the adults that have had their minds scrubbed by the fake Globalist media

I thought when Trump got in, we might have a slight reprieve, but I’m seeing that the war for the hearts and minds of many of our country men and youth has only just begun.

It’s time to stop sitting on the sidelines thinking it’s someone else’s problem, or hoping to be raptured away before the poop hits the fan.

We need to stop being the silent majority and become spiritual warriors speaking out against this insanity that has overtaken our country and universities.  Speak kindly if you can, but if all else fails overwhelm them with logic.  They may melt down, but maybe, just maybe we will plant a seed.

Continue to pray for our country, our legitimate leaders, and for the scales to be removed from the youth who have been led astray.

He Has a Short Time

Very Angry

Revelation 12:11-13 (NKJV)

11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.” 13 Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child.

It seems to be open season on Christians.  Fortunately in America our persecution has been mild compared to the many other parts of the world, but it has been growing.  The political correctness in this Country has shut the mouth of many Christians making them afraid to speak out against sin and evil.  As a matter of fact,  many churches have sadly bought the lie and are embracing things God clearly calls sin and an abomination.

Have you watched any of the protests during the inauguration of Donald Trump?  People rioting, burning cars, throwing bags with urine, bleach, and even feces, at those who were trying to celebrate the inauguration of the 45th President of the Untied States?  Or how about the women’s march on Saturday?  It was foul, disgusting, vulgar, and even blasphemous.  There were two people holding a big poster made out of a sheet that said, “If Mary would have had an abortion we wouldn’t be in this mess”.  Tell me these behaviors, or lack thereof, are not of Satan.  In my 60 years of life, I have never seen such lawlessness and disgusting behavior in this Country.

I don’t know about all you, but I am very happy Trump won the presidency; and so far he seems to be living up to what he promised. Although he is not the savior of America, I personally believe God is using Donald Trump at this time in history. I believe he is showing his people what life can be like in a Country that is once again ruled by law.  You cannot convince me that God did not put in our last administration to show us just what life is like for us when we push or allow God to be pushed out of this Country and our lives.  God has made our chose in life very clear:

Deuteronomy 30:11-19 (NKJV)

The Choice of Life or Death

11 “For this commandment which I command you today is not too mysterious for you, nor is it far off. 12 It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will ascend into heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ 13 Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ 14 But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may do it.

15 “See, I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, 16 in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess. 17 But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them, 18 I announce to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess. 19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

I’m sure most of you believe, as do I, we are living in that time called the end times.  I’m not making predictions as to when,  but feel that many of us could see the book of Revelations opened up before us in our lifetime.  I believe we have a short respite right now where God is giving us a chance to make the choice as listed in Deuteronomy 30, life or death.  Are we wanting to sit back now and say Trump is in office and is going to make everything better?  I hope not! Things will get better in some ways, but there is a battle coming.  We have to be praying harder and more often then ever before.  We need to be in the scriptures daily.  We need to be asking God to show us our part in the great harvest that’s being laid before us.  This short respite isn’t for us to have 4 years of sitting back waiting for others to take care of things, but time for us to stand for the Son of man.

As I said, it’s time to get on our knees and pray like we have never prayed before.  It’s time to put on the Spiritual Armor of God, and gird ourselves for battle.  It’s time to stop expecting others to do the work, and step up ourselves.  We all have a part in this spiritual battle, and if you don’t participate in the battle, there’s a good chance you won’t participate in the reward either.  We have won one battle with Trump getting into office, but I assure you the war is far from over.  Those progressive left wing worshipers of Gaia are not going to take their loss lying down.  They are going to use every dirty trick and use any lie to disparage Trump and Christians throughout this Country.  They follow their father who is the father of lies and the god of this world.  He has a short time and he is very angry and will do everything possible to hurt and destroy us.

My friends, the shofar is blown and the battle is at hand.  What are you going to do about it?

Please tell me what you think!

Where Can Peace Be found

Turn on your TV and show me somewhere where peace can be found in the world.  We’ve had an administration and corrupt media which have done everything possible to keep peace out of the equation. Everything we hear coming out of their mouths is racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia, Islamophobia. It’s all about dividing and pitting us against each other; black’s against white’s, men against women, poor against rich, Christian’s against Muslim’s, and on it goes.

It seems we have returned to the 1960’s and the push for Marxism in our Country has never been stronger. We are reliving the days of the Weather Underground, Abby Hoffman, and the Black Panthers.  Violence is rampant with groups like Black Lives Matter, and all the other paid activists rioting and causing destruction in our streets.

So, where can peace can be found?

I think you probably know where I’m going with this.  We have some great examples of finding peace during great trials in the Bible. Think about when Paul and Silas were in prison after being beaten and their feet put in stocks for sharing the Word of God.  What was their response to this violence and humiliation?  They sang hymns to God.  Although they had to be in terrible pain and extremely uncomfortable, they had peace.  How is that possible?  There is only one way to find peace when life is turbulent, and that is in God, the peace of God which surpasses all understanding.

Colossians 3:14-16 14

But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

So, we are to put on love which is the bond of perfection, and we are to let the peace of God rule our hearts.  The only way to do that is to be close to God, to walk with him, to commune with him, to daily read his word and to pray always.

Philippians 4:6-8

6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.

So we are not to be anxious about what is going on around us.  We are to go to God in prayer, supplication and thanksgiving and ask him for his peace, that peace that surpasses all understanding, and he will give it to us.  Sometimes we may need to look to our families, our churches and of course the wonderful things of God to be able to see those things that our true, and noble, and just, and lovely or of good report to find the things that are praiseworthy and meditate on them.

I don’t know what the future holds, but if you are in Christ, you will be ok in the end.  I believe we are living in the end times although there are things that must happen before we can know for sure.  We may have 5, 10 or maybe even 20 years, of course it could be less as well.  If you are not currently walking with Christ to the fullest, you need to fix that immediately.  There will come a time when we least expect it that the Bridegroom will return, and there will be those who will be caught without enough oil for their lamp and be left our of the Marriage Supper. You DO NOT want to be one of them.

It is time to do what I have mentioned in many of my posts, and if you haven’t already be working on it, you need to start immediately; start cultivating nobility, chivalry, valor; and training to be a spiritual warrior.  Those are the characteristics God needs working in his Saints.  There is a spiritual war going on, and if you’re not girded up for this war, there’s a good chance you could end up a casualty of it.

A Call to Chivalry

ChivalryI really like what it says in Wikipedia about chivalry. I’m sharing a part of it in order to lay a foundation for what I wanted to express in this post.

[Chivalry, or the chivalric code, is the traditional code of conduct associated with the medieval institution of knighthood. Chivalry arose from an idealized German custom.[1] It was originally conceived of as an aristocratic warrior code — the term derives from the French term for horseman — involving honor, gallantry, and individual training and service to others. Over time its meaning has been refined to emphasize more ideals such as knightly virtues, honor, courtly love, courtesy, and less martial aspects of the tradition.

The Knight’s Code of Chivalry was a moral system that stated all knights should protect others who can not protect themselves, such as widows, children, and elders. All knights needed to have the strength and skills to fight wars in the Middle Ages. Knights not only had to be strong but they were also extremely disciplined and were expected to use their power to protect the weak and defenseless. Knights vowed to be loyal, generous, and “noble bearing”. Knights were required to tell the truth at all times and always respect the honor of women. Knights not only vowed to protect the weak but also vowed to guard the honor of all fellow knights. They always had to obey those who were placed in authority and were never allowed to refuse a challenge from an equal. Knights lived by honor and for glory. Knights were to fear God and maintain His Church. Knights always kept their faith and never turned their back on a foe. Knights despised pecuniary reward. They persevered to the end in any enterprise begun.[2] Essentially, a chivalric knight is a Christian military soldier. “Certain law” stated a man must be a baptized Christian in order to become a knight.[1]]

Living in the times we do, it is more important than ever to put on the Whole Armor of God and begin shining God’s light in this very dark world.  Real men and women are needing to step up and become true warriors for Christ.  Sadly there is a virtue that has just about been stamped out of our society, and that virtue is chivalry.

Chivalry is another one of those words that have become archaic in our times. There are women now who are offended if a man opens a door for her. Being valiant or taking the higher road is now seen as weakness, and is made fun of. And chivalry, like morality, is a characteristic that is looked at quizzically and considered old fashioned or passé’.

There was a time when a chivalrous man was admired, looked up to and emulated. Many men now have been emasculated and feminized by our society, and no longer have a clue what true masculinity is, or how much it’s tied to being chivalrous.

A chivalrous man will overlook an offence, but won’t be bullied. He will not digress to another man’s folly, but he will also not be pushed around. A chivalrous man will defend his wife, his family and his country with his very life; but he will not let any of them define who he is as a man.

Chivalry is not about being a macho tough guy. Nor does a chivalrous man’s temperance and overlooking of offences make him a cowardice wimp who lets others walk all over him.  Following Christ’s example, he will turn the other cheek when possible.

Being chivalrous is about knowing who you are as a person. It’s about serving an ideal that is bigger than you. It’s a demeanor or attitude that is strong and courageous, yet mixed with the ability to be gentle and kind. Being chivalrous is about holding yourself to a much higher standard than most people hold themselves to.

Even with all his faults and foibles, King David, and many of those who followed him, were chivalrous men. When you read through the Psalms, you can see the kind of man King David was. He was not only strong and passionate, but he could also be loving, kind and gentle. He was a man who could cry, as well as, laugh. He was also a man who wrote poetry, and yet was a mighty warrior in battle. He was a man’s man. He was the kind of man that most boys want and pretend to be, before they grow up and are corrupted by our society.

Look at characters like Marcus Aurelius in “Gladiator”, William Wallace in “Braveheart”, Lt. Col. Hal Moore in “We Were Soldiers” or Rob Roy in “Rob Roy”. They were all men who loved their families and countries deeply. They were men of great courage and passion, and men who had the capacity to be kind and gentle without seeming weak. They were brave and fierce warriors who risked it all to serve and fight for ideals greater than themselves. How do you and I measure up to these chivalrous characters?

Now, you might not be physically big or tough, but that doesn’t mean you can’t fight the good fight as a spiritual warrior of the Most High God. You might not be covered in muscle, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be strong in spirit and mind; which is where the true battle is taking place. You might not feel brave and fierce, but God sees the real you, a mighty man of courage. After all, he is our strength and our shield, and He will give us what we need for battle.

The battle we fight as Christians is not a physical battle, but a spiritual one. Our real enemies are not the ones we can see in front of us, but the invisible ones behind them that do battle in a spiritual realm.

Ephesians 6:12

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but again, principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

It’s a good thing we have a General who is the most Chivalrous, fierce and powerful warrior that has ever, or will ever exist. Our General is Jesus Christ and He gives us spiritual armor and strength to do battle in, and He always has our back.

Now I would like to express something at this point that is extremely important. Our being chivalrous must not be a part time thing; or something we do only when life is going smoothly. Chivalry is a way of life no matter what is going on, good or bad.

Now, what happens when life throws us a curve ball, or when other people act in an unchivalrous manner toward us? Are we going to let their lack of chivalry cause us to be unchivalrous? Are we going to follow their lead downward?

Unfortunately, not allowing that to happen is often easier said than done. When in the heat of a situation, it can be very difficult not to lower ourselves to someone else’s bad behavior or standards. When we’re insulted, we want to insult back. When we’re hurt, we want to hurt back. When life gives us lemons, we want to rub the lemons in our wounds and feel sorry for ourselves.

There’s a nature within us that wars against God’s nature. Our human nature is selfish and self-serving, and only really cares for ourselves. God’s nature on the other hand is self-less, it’s about serving others, and loving unconditionally. Which nature we follow is up to us, the spirit or the flesh.

Galatians 5: 16-18

16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

The lusting of our flesh isn’t just about physical things either; it’s also about lusting after our own way, our own satisfaction, our own sense of fairness and justice. One cannot walk in the flesh and be chivalrous.

The characteristics of chivalry are something that is cultivated over time, and requires a lot of sacrifice and character to give oneself over to its ideals. If you lack the characteristics of chivalry, ask God to help you. He’s always there for us.

Now, like I said, it can be somewhat easy to be chivalrous when everything is smooth sailing, but when the storms of life come upon us, it can be a very different story. So, the next time someone rocks your boat, or a trial knocks you out of your boat, how will you respond?  Will it be with chivalry, or will human nature win the day?

Cultivating Valor

ValorContinuing with the theme of last my last post, Id like to share my feelings about what I like to call becoming a warrior poet. One of the aspects of being a warrior poet or spiritual warrior is the cultivating of valor. If you were to look at many of the knights of medieval Europe or some of the ancient Greek warriors you would see they were men of valor.  They were brave and principled men.

Let me say before we continue, that this isn’t just about men.  Although God has called men to step up and lead as Christ leads the church, women can an should also have valor.  Our roles may be different in some ways, but we best work as a team; and one role is not more important than the other, just different.

What is Valor?

So, let’s explore what exactly valor is, and how one cultivates it?

Merriam Webster defines valor as, “strength of mind or spirit that enables a person to encounter danger with firmness, personal bravery”. It comes from Middle English valour worth, worthiness, bravery, from Anglo-French, from Medieval Latin valor, from Latin valēre to be of worth, be strong.

I don’t recall any classes in my school that taught or promoted valor. As a matter of fact, I think our schools promote just the opposite. What we’ve been experiencing over the past couple generations is the emasculation of men starting at an early age.

So, what exactly is cultivate? After the description of gardening, we get to the definition that I would like to focus on, and that is described by Webster as, “c : to improve by labor, care, or study; refine <cultivate the mind>, 3: further, encourage <cultivate the arts> 4: to seek the society of : make friends with.

So if we look at the admonition to cultivate valor we find it’s an admonition to improve by labor, care or study the act of strengthening the mind while learning personal worthiness and bravery.

Sounds like a worthy goal to me.

How Do We Do It

How do we do that in a society that condemns men for being men? We are told to be nice, polite and gentle. When we’re a child in school if someone pushes us around, we’re told not to lower ourselves to their level by hitting and to be the bigger man. Really? That’s how you create men who are wusses and wimps.

I’m not advocating fighting every time someone looks at you funny. I’m not advocating being rude, unkind, or gruff with people who are not nice to you. What I’m advocating is being what a man is supposed to be, what God has called him to be.

If you look at Jesus’ examples, you will see Him as kind and gentle with children, widows, the affirmed and those who are suffering. You also see Him very aggressive and in-your-face with religious hypocrites and cruel task masters. Jesus was not a wimp that let Himself get pushed around, He was a man’s man.

The kind of man I am talking about is exemplified by the character William Wallace in Braveheart played by Mel Gibson. Wallace could be humorous, friendly and kind, yet he had a passion and drive that stood up for his woman, his country, and for his suffering country-men. He was no one to be trifled with, he was a man of valor.

Like the warrior poets of old, like King David, and like our Savior Jesus Christ who became man for a time. These were men of valor with deep compassion, and love for others, yet were far from genteel men. They were men who were brave, self-sacrificing, concerned about others; but were afraid of no one.

The Lie We’ve Been Fed

Somehow we’ve been fed a lie that says strong men who stand up for themselves and are willing to fight for what is right are bullies and brutes. No, bullies and brutes are not men, they are bullies and brutes.

Real men have feelings, and the capacity to be kind, considerate and even gentle. Real men can appreciate prose, music, beauty and art. Real men can even cry when moved emotionally yet still stand strong, and are un-swayed in their dedication to God, family and ideals.

A real man would never bully or abuse a women, child or honorable thing. Just the opposite, they will sacrifice and defend those things with their very last breath.

So, how do we learn to cultivate valor in a culture that holds valor unimportant and passé’?

The only way to do that is to stop looking at what our society says about men, and what rolls men currently hold. The roles that God has given men and women have become so blurred it’s hard to know what a man is anymore.

Many men have misconstrued their responsibility as head of the family to mean self-important dictators. They have become terrors in their own family, and rule with an iron fist. Then there are those on the opposite side who refuse to accept responsibility for their families at all. Their family is not their priority, instead things like work, sports and their own personal gratification are their concern.

Men need to start looking to the past if they want to learn what a real man is, and what being a man of valor means. So many people look at Jesus and talk about how loving, kind and nice He was. Yes, He was those things, but He was also powerful, strong, and didn’t put up with nonsense. He called it like He saw it, with no apologies offered for stepping on toes while telling the truth and opposing wrong.

Could someone without valor lay down their life as our Savior did? Absolutely not!

Society Has it Wrong

It’s time we stopped looking to society to tell us what a man is, because our society has no clue about manhood, womanhood or valor anymore. If we want to learn to be men and women of valor, we need to read the scriptures and really study the examples of the men and women of the bible.

We can also look back to the founding fathers of this great nation. Consider how many of them acted on an ideal “the birth of a new nation” that was bigger than themselves sacrificing everything. Those were acts of valor. Then consider the men and women who daily face danger and death defending our country overseas, as well as, defending us and our streets at home.

Many talk about needing a revival in this country, and I couldn’t agree more. Unfortunately unless, and until men and women begin cultivating valor into their lives again, there is little hope that we will be able to stand up and lead such a revival.
