Odoxil 500 mg
Odoxil contains Cefadroxil as an active ingredient. Odoxil works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. Odoxil is a broad spectrum antibiotic used to treat a variety of conditions caused by bacteria like infections of the skin, throat and urinary tract. It should be taken with food to avoid nausea and vomiting.
Odoxil is usually taken with or without food once or twice in a day. However, it is better to take the medicine with food to reduce the symptoms of stomach upset and nausea. You should take the medication as recommended by your doctor. In case you miss a dose, you can have it as soon as you remember it but do not take two doses together to make up for a missed one. Before you start a course of this medicine, inform the doctor if you have any of the following conditions: bleeding issues, any kidney disease, a stomach or intestinal problem, especially colitis, if you are pregnant or planning to be, if you are a breastfeeding mother, any allergic or unusual reactions to any food or medications.
Odoxil has some mild side effects like gas, heartburn, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. They normally do not require any medical supervision and go away in a few days.
