Bacipen 500 mg
Bacipen is an antibiotic medication closely related to penicillin. It is effective against and finds prescription for a wide range of infections including gonorrhoea and other genital, urinary, respiratory, and gastrointestinal infections. It is also prescribed to patients who have inflamed membranes of the spinal cord or brain.
Bacipen’s mode of action is very similar to Penicillin and it works by stopping the bacteria from growing. This is achieved by impairing the bacteria’s ability to form bonds and thereby pulling down their cell walls. The holes that appear in the cell walls allow the body’s immune system to take over and fight off the bacteria.
Take Bacipen exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor. Take Bacipen at regular intervals as instructed, do not skip any doses. Take a missed dose as soon as you think about it. If it is close to the time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your normal time. Do not take 2 doses at the same time or extra doses and do not change the dose or stop Bacipen.
Side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, inform your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine whether it is safe for you to continue taking Bacipen. Side effects may include: colitis (inflammation of the bowel), diarrhea, fever, itching, nausea, rash or other skin problems, sore tongue or mouth, vomiting.
Store capsules at room temperature in a tightly closed container.
