Carpe Diem

Although not a perfect translation, Carpe Diem has come to mean seize the day. What a concept! Can you image if each of us upon rising in the morning opened our arms to the world and shouted Carpe Deim; let me “seize the day”. How would life be different for us? What are the possibilities?

The things we could accomplish if we would only believe are absolutely amazing. The problem is, so few of us believe.

We get up each day and stumble about getting ready for work, school or where ever we need to be. Most of us live in this bubble of our current reality expecting no more from life today than the day before. We are a self-fulfilling prophecy. We expect little, so we strive for little, and we end up with little.

Thomas Edison said, “If we did all the things we are capable of doing, we would literally astound ourselves”. I believe that to be so true.

We are our own worse enemies when it comes to success because’ we refuse to believe we can succeed.

Have you considered that maybe your current reality isn’t living up to par with your true abilities? What if your potential is so much greater than you realized? Wouldn’t you rather make your life happen the way you want rather than accept whatever life throws your way?

Successful people are not born with some success gene. Most of the successful people in this world became successful by not blindly accepting their circumstances. They are people who didn’t just accept the status quo. They are people who knew there was more out there than mediocrity, and pushed themselves to achieve greater things.

The difference between self-made successful people; and people who live in mediocrity is mainly attitude, determination and belief.

You are a person with vast potential, created by God, and limited only by what you believe. Do you think He wants you to just accept your circumstance and never try to better yourself?

You have so much potential, so much to offer, and so much you can do and contribute. You just need to believe in yourself. You have the potential to make your life into just about anything you want.

If you’re unhappy with your job, your life, or the direction you’re life is going; do something about it. Believe for something big, and don’t let anyone or anything get in your way.

Growing and becoming more than your current circumstance might be hard, it might take some time, it might mean going back to school, it will certainly mean doing some creative thinking and goal setting; but you can change your current reality.

You have the God given ability to become whoever or whatever you wish. It starts with your getting up each day, opening your arms to the world believing, and shouting, “Carpe Diem”.
